    Traffic Information

    Highways in Germany can be very busy, especially during the summer holidays. To help you plan your trip, we have put together some useful tips and traffic updates. Weeze Airport is located directly on the A57 motorway, making it easily accessible by car. However, since you can reach the airport via various major routes, there are several traffic junctions where congestion can occur. We recommend checking the traffic before you leave.

    Under normal traffic conditions, you can expect the following travel times:

    Duisburg -> Weeze Airport: 59km / 50 minutes
    Münster -> Weeze Airport: 150km / 1 hr 40 min

    Additional Information for Germany

    Even if you are an experienced driver, it is important to be aware of the specific traffic regulations in Germany. Here is a quick summary of the most important rules.

    Safety Vests

    Since July 1, 2014, it is mandatory to carry a safety vest in your car in Germany. In the event of a breakdown or accident, you must wear this vest when exiting the vehicle to set up your warning triangle.

    Speed Camera Warnings

    In Germany, it is illegal to use any technical device that warns you about speed cameras or police controls. This applies to radar detectors as well as apps on your mobile phone or features in your navigation system (like TomTom). Please ensure these functions are disabled while driving.

    Environmental Badge (Umweltplakette)

    Please note that many German cities have "Low Emission Zones" (Umweltzonen). To enter these areas, your car must display a valid emissions sticker (usually green). Cars with red or yellow stickers, or no sticker at all, are not allowed in these zones. Check your route if you plan to visit a city center on your way to the airport.
