    Traffic information and directions

Are you flying from Maastricht Aachen Airport? The airport is easily accessible via the A2 motorway. While traffic here is generally calmer than at major international hubs, we still recommend checking the latest traffic reports before you leave to avoid any unexpected delays around Maastricht.

    Useful tips for the Netherlands

A smooth journey starts with good preparation. Before starting a long drive, we advise checking your car’s tire pressure, oil levels, and lights. A quick check can help you arrive at the check-in desk stress-free.

    Fuel and refueling

You will find a dense network of petrol stations throughout the Netherlands offering Petrol (Euro 95) and Diesel. If you want to save money, try to refuel in local villages rather than directly on the motorway, as prices are often significantly lower.

Note for LPG users: While LPG is widely available, it is not sold at every single station, especially in smaller towns. It is best to plan your refueling stops in advance.

    Roadside assistance

If you experience a breakdown on your way to the airport, help is readily available. If you are a member of a breakdown service in your home country, check if your coverage extends to the Netherlands (Europe cover). Many foreign providers cooperate with the Dutch ANWB to provide assistance.

    Speed limits

Please pay close attention to the speed limits in the Netherlands, as speed cameras are common and fines can be steep:

    • Motorways: Between 06:00 and 19:00, the limit is usually 100 km/h. In the evening and at night, up to 130 km/h may be allowed on certain sections. Always check the signs.
    • Regional roads: Usually 80 km/h.
    • Urban areas: 30 to 50 km/h.
